Kyle Brezovec: Investing in Hudson's Future
My connection to Northeast Ohio runs deep. Growing up in Aurora, just a stone's throw from Hudson, I've always considered this area home. After a brief stint in Downtown Cleveland, my heart led me back to the familiar landscapes of our community. In 2020, my wife, Lauren, and I chose Hudson as the place to begin our family's next chapter.
Lauren, a dedicated second-grade teacher in Aurora, shares my deep roots in this area. We moved to Hudson amidst the challenges of the pandemic, and despite the disruptions to our wedding plans, we were married in a small ceremony in 2020. We are now proud parents of two young children, ages three and one, and we are invested in the future of Hudson.
My background is rooted in hard work and dedication. As a successful wrestler in high school and college, I learned the value of discipline and perseverance. I pursued my passion for technology studying Computer Science and have spent over ten years in software development and engineering. Additionally, I understand the importance of community support, having founded an alumni association and annual fundraiser for my high school wrestling team. I am also a member of the rotary club here in Hudson.
I'm running for City Council because I believe Hudson is one of the best cities in the state, and I want it to be number one. My primary focus is to finally expand Velocity Broadband, our municipal fiber network, to every household in Hudson. This initiative, long overdue, will ensure our community has access to the essential infrastructure of the 21st century. My experience in software development and engineering makes me uniquely qualified to oversee this project.
As a young father, I am also passionate about prioritizing parks, community, and recreational spaces for all ages. I want to see a downtown phase 2 project that prioritizes pedestrian infrastructure and safety, creating a welcoming environment for families and seniors alike. The main way to do this is drastically reducing vehicle infrastructure in the center of the project compared to phase 1.
I am an even-mannered candidate who believes in finding common ground. I am committed to working collaboratively with all members of the community to build a stronger and more inclusive Hudson. I envision a city council that is a collaborative and supportive partner for resident-led initiatives. I believe that my professional experience and my perspective as a young father will be valuable assets to the City Council.
My vision for Hudson is a community where:
Every household has access to reliable, high-speed internet through the full expansion of Velocity Broadband.
Our parks and recreational spaces are vibrant and accessible to all residents, from children to seniors.
Pedestrian safety and accessibility are prioritized in our downtown development.
Our safety services are fully staffed and given the support and resources needed to best protect our community
The city council is a supportive and collaborative partner for resident-led initiatives.
I am asking for your support to bring my experience, dedication, and vision to the Hudson City Council. Together, we can build a brighter future for Hudson.
